Why a custom software system makes more sense.
by Juan Soto - 08/03/10

Not ready to spend millions in software? Consider a custom solution instead.
There is an old joke among Enterprise Resource Planning Software, (ERP), consultants: Finding a customer happy with there ERP software is like finding a needle in a haystack.

Endless Cycle of Costs
Many if not all of the major software installations, (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.), are almost always over budget. Mostly due to salespeople over promising and the software being overwhelming for the customer.

Custom Software + ERP = $Avings
Many of our clients have an ERP solution in place, but yet continue to use our services in developing software that will work with their existing systems, or do features there existing system cannot do. In addition, it can be quite expensive to ask for custom features from the major software companies. Quite often if you do purchase a custom feature, the software can no longer be patched through the vendors normal patching process.

Why Custom Software Makes Sense
When we develop custom software for a client, we are not hindered by the experiences of the past, but rather design it for the specific situations of our clients. They end up with a wonderful solution that will always cost less and can be rapidly deployed when considered with a large ERP solution.

But how do I know you will be there for me?
This is the number one question we get when we propose a custom solution. Many people that come to us have been burned by other programmers, or they fear we will close shop and leave them hanging. That's why we are members of the Better Business Bureau, (check our profile here), and have been in operation since 1994, along with great references.
